JAM-VIA, JIL Singapore in Concert

22nd June, 2008. All geared up for a loud shout of praise, the Jesus Army of Musicians, Voices in Adoration of the Jesus Is Lord Church Singapore Chapter have finally ventured on an out of the box experience. Packed with a 20 song repertoire, the tedious months of rehearsals resulted into one great exciting concert – God Who?

The congregation was in for a big surprise as the pink-themed poster of the day’s event swathed the function room of Royal Hotel. The stage was set in an unusual way situating a complete band set-up with full back ups. A 24-channel audio mixer was leased to add up to the whole new sound experience. A few minutes after call time, the rest of the team offered their worship prayer in full thanksgiving. Clothed in black shirts with the event logo in front, Bro. Allan Guiling, JAM-VIA coordinator, and the rest of the guys were just waiting it out with some more technical preparations.

Singapore, it’s not just an ordinary Sunday, not just a simple gathering of our “kapatid” and “kababayan”. More than the usual weekly church service that is being held at Royal Hotel’s Royal Room, the exponential growth of Spirit hungry believers is bound to greater heights as God has been, and will continue to be faithful to His beloved congregation of JIL people.

Can it be just a few steps behind? Can we not remind ourselves of how and where we started? We are heading for our second decade of God’s faithfulness and it’s just around the corner as JIL Singapore rejoices for the 18th year with greater expectation of God’s mighty move, providing more than everyone else has expected in His utmost grace.

Batch 1 Commencement Exercise, JIL Singapore

June 8, 2008, Royal Hotel, Another 5 months had gone by and less than a hundred students marched to accept their certificates from their teachers, presenting with them is Sis Mila Gagarin representing our beloved Pastor Norlyne Gagarin. With the theme “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize” from 1 Corinthians 9:24, the students were encouraged through the word delivered by Bro. Paul Palis in accordance with the day’s commencement exercise.

25th of May, The Royal room of Hotel Royal was packed for a “Barangay Fiesta” as the Theater and Arts Ministry have lavished their efforts in this one special day. The whole congregation along with their visitors was in for a big surprise, the seats were not in their usual place, “banderitas” were hung across the whole function room, if there was a “lechon” on the center aisle you would really feel that you suddenly been beamed to your home in the Philippines.

With the goal of presenting the richness of our God given culture in mind, an all-dressed up cultural dancers gracefully took center stage as they showcased different Filipino dances from the 3 major islands of the Philippines. (Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao).

Leonie Hill, 21st of May, dubbed as the home cell with the most number of attendees, Orchard Home Cell celebrated their 2nd year of gathering in God’s sovereign grace. Celebrating with them are invited guests and the hosts of the condotel function room which they regularly convene every Wednesday.

Exhorting from Luke 19:13, “Occupy till I come”, Brother Marvin Malacaman, in charge of the home cells and one of the preaching team, gave encouraging words to the Orchard group that highlights their calling to multiply and be fruitful both in their spiritual lives and in evangelizing.
